Nawang’s first solo release in 4 years features approximately 11 original compositions focused on his sublime flute melodies, enhanced by gentle percussive explorations from around the world with a number of guest musicians. In Tibetan dream yoga, the practitioner learns to recognize when they are in the dream state, change and direct dream experiences, and eventually apply this understanding of the illusory nature of perception and experience to the waking state as well. This CD is inspired by dream yoga as a practice for personal spiritual freedom, as well as the Tibetan birthright of freedom as expressed through nonviolent struggle under the great leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Nawang’s music has long been utilized by meditators, practitioners and bodyworkers for yoga, tai chi and massage therapy and this album will be no exception.
