"The Hokum Boys" was a name used by a number of distinct hokum and ragtime groups recording for various "race record" labels between 1928 and 1937. This entry is for the group consisting of Georgia Tom Dorsey accompanied either by Tampa Red or Ikey Robinson, recording for Paramount from c. December 1928 to early June 1929. Other groups using the name are: The Hokum Boys, Big Bill Broonzy, Casey Bill Weldon, Bill Settles, Washboard Sam, Black Bob, and others unknown, recording for Aeolian Vocalion from 1935 to 1937.
