The Belle Image was born in 1996, out of a combination of admiration for both fanfare music and a passion for live street performance.
Raised by live street music inspired by “Latino roots”, the lively brass-based bandas of Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador, the exciting percussionists of the Caribbean and other such provocative inspirations. The Belle Image are street artists, whose performances combine the power of brass with the sensuality of South American dances that are sometimes capable of inducing a state of trance. The repertoire presented on this album is taken essentially from “Pachamama Coronada”, a street show created in 2013 by La Belle Image in collaboration with the dancer and choreographer Francis Plisson (Compagnie Marouchka, Tours). It also includes iconic pieces from the band’s musical career, such as “Tres Clarinetes” and “Guaneña”.
