This 2CD represents a unique cultural document of ceremonial songs and dances from thirty different cultures reaching from one end of the world to the other, from the Tropical forests to the wind swept deserts of Mongolia… The ceremonies include Bushmen/South Africa, Ga people/Ghana, Yoruba/Nigeria, Chewa people/Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Kabbala/Jewish, Dervish/Turkey & Syria, Sufi/Iran & India, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist/India & Tibet, Baul/Bengal, Mongolia, Shamans/Yakutia, Zen/Japan, Ifugao people/Philippines, Northern Laos, North-East Thailand, Australian Aborigines, Papua New Guinea, Aymara/Bolivia, Ketchua/Peru, Voodoo/Haiti, Santeria/Cuba, San Juan Pueblo/Native American Indians, Northern Arapaho/ Native American Indians… There are similarities and differences between the religions due to historical reasons, but whatever the belief, the voice of man in devotion rings with a universal appeal as can be heard on these two CDs. With thirty pages of documentation and more than twenty colour photographs this album is a very valuable sound document!
